My name is Rachael Day. I’m an creative director, writer, former college athlete, Food Network junkie, wanna-be novelist and mom. Back when I started my job hunt, I thought I wanted to write greeting cards for Hallmark. So, I applied for an internship. The woman said “Get a little life experience and THEN come look me up.” I had no idea what that meant. I was graduating from college. Didn’t that make me downright worldly?
I now know, it did not. Graduating simply proved I wasn’t an idiot. That sparkly GPA might have checked the box for book smarts, but it did not help me be a good creative. It was all that other stuff – all that life – that did.
Now, for the fluff. I think the power of great creative is limitless. It can make you stop. Make you think. Make you forget. Make you sick. It can goad you to do something or ask that you sit still and do nothing at all.
I like getting lost in the details, sound reasoning and rationale. I like exploring ALL the options just to prove to myself why this one is the right one. I like creative that makes sense and is impactful. And if doesn’t make sense, there better be a really good reason why.
You tell me what you want your headlines/project/concept to do, and I will make sure it does “that.” And, if your lucky, it might also do “this other thing” as well.
I’m quick, reliable and will never leave you hanging. I know how agencies work. I pick up things quickly and I will keep working until you have exactly what you need to look good at the end of the day.
